Taxlume is a retirement and quarterly-tax planning calculator for US self-employed freelancers. It has no account, sign-in, or profile — you can use every feature without providing your name, email address, or any other identifying information.
The net self-employment income, age, and filing status you enter into the calculator are processed entirely on your device to compute your results. Past calculations you choose to keep are stored locally on your device only — this information is never sent to us or to any server we operate. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
Taxlume is funded by ads shown through Google AdMob (banner ads and optional rewarded video ads). AdMob and its partners may collect device identifiers, approximate location, and app usage data to show and measure ads, and may use this data to personalize the ads you see, subject to your device's ad tracking settings. This collection is governed by Google's own policies, not by us — see Google's Privacy & Terms at policies.google.com/privacy and their advertising policy at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You can reset your advertising identifier or limit ad tracking at any time in your device's system settings.
If you turn on quarterly tax deadline reminders, the reminder dates and your choice to enable them are stored locally on your device and used only to schedule local notifications — no reminder data is transmitted anywhere.
If you use the "Share" feature, Taxlume generates a summary (as text or an image) and hands it to your device's own share sheet. You choose where it goes — we have no visibility into, and do not store, anything you choose to share.
Taxlume is intended for adults managing their own self-employment finances and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Because Taxlume keeps your calculator data on-device, you are always in control of it: clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app removes it completely. You can manage ad personalization and notification permissions at any time in your device's system settings.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the effective date above and, where required, notify you within the app.
